NIX Care: raising funds to help those in need
There is an incredible number of causes that provide essential support services to people in need, yet are forced to rely heavily on donations from businesses and individuals in order to operate. We are therefore excited to officially announce that we will be creating a charity foundation called NIX Care, to help support such organizations and be a force for positive change in society.
The NIX Care foundation will have two main sources of funds: one as contributions from NIX development fund, and another one from members of the public willing to donate. For the latter, NIX team will provide a public NIX address where people can send their donations.
NIX Care will be focused initially on supporting health related causes. The first campaign will be for charitable organizations providing help and support to children suffering from cancer.
The outlook for children with cancer has improved dramatically over the last 50 years. In the early 1960s, three quarters of children diagnosed with cancer died. Today, more than three quarters of children survive. However, this high overall survival rate masks wide variation between different types of cancer*. NIX Care therefore wants to raise awareness of childhood cancer, and also to raise funds to protect more children by helping them receive the help and treatment they need.
This is just the start of a series of charitable contributions the NIX team will be making in the future, and we have to admit, it makes us very proud. NIX Care comes from the hearts, minds and passion of individuals willing to make a difference and stand for charity causes around the world.
