NIX is now supported on Ledger
NIX Platform is consistently developing features to protect users’ assets and privacy including on-chain features such as the Ghost Vault and 2-Way Ghosting — two innovative privacy features unique to NIX. Those following our GitHub will know we’ve been working on hardware integration for both Ledger and Trezor and we’re pleased to have made some great progress.
NIX is now supported on Ledger Hardware Wallet.
Today, we’re glad to announce that NIX has officially been integrated into Ledger hardware devices Nano S and the Ledger Blue. Now, users can easily carry NIX everywhere, counting on a system that enhances your assets’ security at all times.
Ledger’s hardware wallets store your NIX private keys in a device that only you have access to. To validate payments using your funds a pin has to be physically entered on the user’s USB device, preventing even keyloggers from getting access — even on a compromised machine.
Getting started with NIX on the Ledger Nano S.
The requirements for storing NIX on a Ledger Nano S hardware device:
- The device itself with the latest firmware installed
- Ledger Live App installed & ready to use
- NIX-Electrum Wallet installed on your computer
Once the requirements are met, follow the guide detailed here to keep your NIX secured with your favorite hardware device.
Future developments
We’re already working on further integration between NIX and Ledger by way of LPoS smart contract support and Ghostnode service support. This is something our community has been asking for and we’re eager to provide this functionality — so keep up with our announcements and watch this space!
